Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has said the probe of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, cannot only be professionally and thoroughly done by outside
Sani stated this in a tweet on Saturday while reacting to the suspension of the former governor of the Apex Bank, Godwin Emefiele by President Bola Tinubu.
He was asked to hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi who will act as the CBN Governor pending the conclusion of investigation and the reforms of the financial sector of the country’s economy. He opined that insiders may not properly probe the CBN, alleging that the apex bank was operated “as an ATM of the cabal”.
