A group, Nigerian Feminist Forum (NFF) has lashed out at the Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David
Oyedepo, over his recent comment on feminism, calling on the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria to caution him.
“Bishop Oyedepo’s comments clearly justifies why women do not lead branches of the Living Faith Church even when eminently qualified, and this is condemnable as women form a large followership of his church. She further said,”Bishop Oyedepo who by his comments has displayed his misogynist tendencies, advocating those women seeking to be heard as misfits and as the causes of divorce.
NFF Communications Officer, Comrade Angela Nkwo, described the clergyman’s position as gross misrepresentation which has provided for women to be silenced, ignored, and subjected to gender-based violence during an interview with DAILY POST on Wednesday.
