A Catholic priest, Tobias Okonkwo, was shot dead on Thursday in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. The Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, Raphael Ezeogu, confirmed the incident, stating that Okonkwo was killed by unidentified assailants along Onitsha-Owerri Expressway. The Anambra State Police spokesperson said he was unaware of the incident when contacted.
