An infectious disease physician and former Deputy Chief Medical Officer has flagged one major concern he has for Australia heading into winter.

Infectious disease physician Dr Nick Coastworth said there will be"no doubt" infections will surge from February due to the twice-weekly testing before a child is able to enter an educational facility.

The Victorian government have implemented the three Vs - ventilation, vaccination and vital COVIDSafe Steps - to ensure a safe return for its students.The Andrews govenrment have also offered grants of $25,000 for more than 2,100 schools to purchase shade sail to create outdoor learning experiences and avoid compacted classrooms.
