Southampton coach, Nathan Jones has explained why his team eliminated Manchester City from the Carabao Cup quarter-final tie on Wednesday.
Jones said his Southampton team defeated Man City because his players were aggressive, organized, and went after the game against Pep Guardiola’s side. Goals from Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo gave Southampton the victory over Man City at St. Mary’s Stadium.“I’m really pleased with the performance. I thought we were excellent as a team,” Jones said at his post-match press conference.“I am proud of the players and proud of the staff. I have had people calling me out, I have even had non-League managers calling me out, saying I’m not good enough.
“It is a proud moment for me. To be on the same level as him is wonderful, it’s what I have worked very, very hard over my 33-year career to do.”
