Carabao Cup draw: Man United face Palace as Newcastle host Man City

Manchester United, holders of the Carabao Cup, will host Crystal Palace in the third round of this season’s competition.

The Red Devils, who won the title to end a seven-year trophy drought, were drawn to face Roy Hodgson’s men in the draws that took place Wednesday night.

Newcastle United, beaten finalists last season, have, however, been handed a tough draw to face Manchester City, English Premier League champions.Chelsea and Arsenal were also handed EPL opponents, with the Gunners visiting Brentford while mega-spending Chelsea will host Brighton in a possible Moises Caicedo reunion.The Carabao Cup third-round ties will take place in the week commencing September 25.
