A consultation is taking place
A Nottinghamshire town could see a brand new skate park developed for local people next summer. A consultation is in place to develop a new, modern concrete facility to one of several possible locations in Stapleford.
“It got into a bad state of repair, the council had to fence it all off. Unfortunately, people ignored the fencing and kept going in there and some young lad really hurt himself. “When you look the top of at Archers Field Recreation Ground or Queen Elizabeth Recreation Ground, they’ve not had any funding or investment on them for years and there's loads of people that live up that end.
“Youngsters can come over from Beeston and Chilwell, they can come and use it - you’re bringing people together and I’ve always been about bringing unity to the community. The best way to bring people together is through skating and bmxing.
