The Nation Newspaper CAF Cups: Rangers, Remo Stars, El-Kanemi get tricky opponents
Nigeria’s duo of Rangers International and Remo Stars will respectively face Comorian and Moroccan opponents in the first preliminary round of theThe NPFL champions, Rangers landed Union Sportive de Zilimadjou of Comoros during the draw conducted by the Confederation of African Football while Remo Stars will slug it out with battle-hardened AS FAR of Morocco in a repeat of the 2022 encounter in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Rangers will make a trip first to Moroni for the first leg but Remo Stars will host the first leg at home before travelling away for the return leg.In the second tier club competition, CAF Confederation Cup, President Federation Cup winners, El-Kanemi Warriors were handed a tough first round game at home to Dadje FC of Benin Republic.
Nigeria’s second representatives Enyimba International were drawn bye to the first preliminary round into the second where they will play the winner between Hafia of Guinea and Rahimo FC of Burkina Faso. Enyimba FC are among the 12 top teams drawn bye from the first round based on their previous record in the competition.
