The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo has charged Edo Queens FC of Benin, representing Nigeria in the ongoing 2024 CAF Women Champions League in Casablanca, Morocco to beat their South Africa counterpart, Mamelodi Sundown and return home with the cup.

reports that the governor gave the charge to the female football team in a statement made available to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua in Benin City. Okpebholo , who hailed the team for their achievements so far charged them to beat the South Africans to enable them lead Group B into the semifinals. The governor assured the team of his continuous support, as they represent the state and Nigeria in Morocco.

reported that Edo Queens will engage in a fierce battle with the defending champions Mamelodi Sundown Girls in the last group game of the CAF Women Champions League on Saturday, November 16 2024 in Casablanca, Morocco. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6 pm on Saturday. The Nigeria Women Premier League champions, Edo Queens began with a 3-0 victory over Commercial Bank of Ethiopia with Emem Essien, Folashade Ijamilusi and Goodness Osigwe scoring for the Queens.
