Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane on Sunday set a new record for the most goals scored by a debutant in the Bundesliga after netting his 31st in his 26th appearance.

Kane, who has defied expectations since moving to Bayern Munich during the summer of 2023 from Tottenham Hotspur, surpassed former Hamburger SV striker Uwe Seeler, who previously held the record with 30 goals.

Bayern Munich defeated Darmstadt 5-2 in the match, with Kane scoring the equaliser in the first half before heading in a goal in added time. Despite Kane's impressive performance, Bayern Munich may end the season empty-handed, as they are second in the Bundesliga and have already been eliminated from the DFB Pokal. They remain, however, in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League, where they will face Arsenal.
