President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the confirmation of Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Mr Muhammad was first appointed in January after the president controversially suspendedOn Wednesday, the National Judicial Council in a statement said it has
“It is my hope that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the distinguished Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.In a separate letter, Mr Buhari wrote to inform the Senate of his intention to appoint 15 special advisers.
In contrast to the expectation of Nigerians, the president is yet to forward his ministerial list to the Senate.
