Award-winning singer, Olawala Olofooro, popularly known as Brymo, has taken his flair for onstage live-band performances to the screens again, with the first rendition of his 7th Studio album, Yellow. Brymo Yellow Music
Held last Sunday, the one-hour live show was organised in full adherence to the government’s COVID-19 regulations, no attendees! However, the gig was live telecast on Pop Central , as well as Instagram Live-streams of the session.
Brymo, who recently generated significant buzz on his new album, by coming under heavy criticism from Nigerians on social media for self-praising his album “as the best thing to come out of Africa,” has been under the keen spotlight with this project. Flaunting a modernistic short-sleeved Agbada and a brown Fedora hat, the Afro-fusion singer performed some of the tracks in the new work, including, Money Launderers and Heartbreakers, Strippers and White Lies, Rara Rira, as well as his previous classics, Mirage, and others.
The Yellow album itself is an experimental pop-heavy album that reflected Brymo’s observations and experiences with love, toxic relationships, life struggles, trust, and social issues like governance and black history. The 47-minute long record was released on April 1, in the midst of the COVID-19 induced national lockdown. Since then, it has garnered massive streams across digital streaming platforms globally.
