Ese Brume won the gold medal in the long jump event at the 2024 African Athletics Championship in Douala, Cameroon.
Nigeria’s The 28-year-old Nigerian long jump star was in second place behind Burkina Faso’s Marthe Koala who was leading with 6.72m after five attempts.
Her Nigerian compatriot Prestina Ochonogor was also in action in the long jump final and finished fourth with 6.28m.Rose Yeboah of Ghana won the gold medal with a best effort of 1.87m, repeating their placements the last time they met at the NCAA Championships.She won the title in 2016 in Durban South Africa and in 2018 in Asaba, Delta State, she was crowned champion again.
