Unified Command salvage teams continue wreckage removal at the Francis Scott Key Bridge site.

Officials are awaiting results from a dive survey before proceeding with plans to re-float and move the Dali to Seagirt Marine Terminal in the Port of Baltimore.

Officials say this dive inspection is a necessary and vital step in the complicated process of reopening the Fort McHenry Federal Channel in a manner that mitigates risk to the vessel once it’s carefully refloated and moved from its current position. In order to permit safe diver access to the Patapsco riverbed next to the vessel, Unified Command cranes have to remove submerged/unstable wreckage from the controlled demolition and secure or remove severely damaged containers and overhanging wreckage from the initial bridge collapse.

As the NTSB continues its investigation into the Key Bridge collapse, a preliminary report shows the Dali experienced four power outages before colliding with the bridge. The other two power outages on the Dali happened the next day on March 26th, right before the ship crashed into the Key Bridge. The crew was able to briefly restore power, but then another breaker tripped causing the second outage.
