Six people have been killed in a fatal crash that occurred on Thursday, at about 11.33am, along the Darazo -Dukku highway in Bauchi State.
The crash, which happened about two kilometers from the Darazo office of the Federal Road Safety Corps, involved two vehicles — a commercial vehicle and a private vehicle. The Sector Commander, FRSC, Bauchi State, Corp Commander Yusuf Abdullahi, confirmed the crash to our correspondent. He said that the commercial vehicle, a Volkswagen bus with registration number KTG-950ZZ was driven by one Ahmad Umar; while the name of the driver of the private vehicle, a Peugeot Saloon with registration number AKK-53CB, is unknown.“The crash happened about two kilometers away from our Darazo office and it involved 18 people — 12 male adults, four female adults and two female children.
“Immediately we got a distress call, our men rushed to the scene of the crash within some few minutes for rescue operation.“It was at the hospital that six people comprising five male adults and one female adult were confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
