Edo State government has alleged the recent explosions at the residences of some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress were plots to seek a declaration of a state of emergency by President Mohammadu Buhari.
It said the explosions were orchestrated by members of the Edo Peoples Movement to create a sense of insecurity in the state. Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Barr. Paul Ohonbamu, who spoke in Benin City, told reporters the EPM resorted to use of explosives after failing to get the House of Assembly to remove Governor Godwin Obaseki.
