Mr Babalele Abdullahi and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar
Both men who are now being accused by the EFCC of engaging in conspiracy, money laundering, vote-buying and influence peddling were reportedly exposed by powerful bureau de change dealers in Lagos and Abuja. “We did not even set out to arrest anyone until we came across the first suspicious amount of $1.6 million cash and another $1.5 million with the same set of persons and when our operatives questioned the source of the money it was traced to the same persons,” an EFCC investigator revealed.
“The two men were only released on administrative bail and they have made statements that will enable us to deal with the situation appropriately in no distant time,” an official of the agency said.
