A meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party's National Working Committee is underway at the party's headquarters in Abuja.POLITICS NIGERIA learnt that the meeting is aimed at addressing the issue of the Rivers state congress as well as those of other state chapters facing similar challenges.The meeting, which began at 3 p.m.
The NWC will review all issues related to the congresses, including those in Rivers and other states facing challenges,” the source said.The meeting comes after a three-week delay amid rising tensions within the party.The Rivers state congresses have been a point of contention, particularly between Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, and the PDP Governors Forum, which has publicly backed current Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
