POLITICS NIGERIA reports that details surrounding the incident are still sketchy, but it was gathered that the fire started from the Provost Office and spread to Finance Department, Conference Room, PPRO Office, Assistant Commissioner Office, Deputy Commissioner Office, among other offices.The fire however spared the office of the newly posted State Commissioner of Police and the block of offices adjacent to his own office.

Several documents were believed to have been gutted by the inferno, said a witness who however added that there were no reports of injury or loss of life of any sort as a result of the accident.
