BREAKING: APC adopts Akpabio, Abbas as senate president, speaker

The APC also adopted Barau Jibrin and Ben Kalu as deputy senate president and deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.

The National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress has ratified the zoning formula proposed by the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, ignoring protests by aggrieved members of the party on the lopsidedness of the arrangement.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, announced the ratification while briefing journalists after the meeting. With the adoption, the party has shut out the North-central zone from the National Assembly leadership despite protests by the zone.The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress met today, Monday, May 8, 2023, to consider reports of consultations and meetings held with the President-Elect, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, other Party leaders and stakeholders on zoning arrangements for 10th National Assembly leadership positions.
