Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s tax reform bills for advancing to a second reading in the Senate without adequate deliberation and consultations. Ndume called for a more thorough process, reflecting concerns similar to those raised about the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
Senator Ali Ndume , representing Borno South, has voiced strong opposition to President Bola Tinubu ’s tax reform bills, which recently advanced to a second reading in the Senate.
“It is not that I am totally saying we should throw away the baby with the bathwater, but why the rush?” he asked. “The PIB was introduced when I was in the House of Representatives but wasn’t passed until years later when I was in the Senate. Why can’t we take the same deliberate approach with the tax reform bills?” Ndume said.
