The Nigeria Customs Service , Ogun 1 Area Command, has debunked the claim that the Idiroko land border in the state has been reopened for business.
The Controller of the state command, Bamidele Makinde, cleared the air while reacting to a viral video showing some Customs officers opening the border.
He said since then it had remained open for legitimate trade, noting that anyone who does business in the unapproved route would be intercepted. Meanwhile, the command impounded 6,924 bags of smuggled foreign parboiled rice of 50kg each, equivalent to 11 trailer loads, between April and May.
