Suspect apprehended with bomb-making materials in Gubio town, disrupting planned attacks by insurgents.

In a joint operation, forces from the Multinational Joint Task Force ( MNJTF ) and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) apprehended a suspected bomb-maker at the outskirts of Gubio town in Borno state. Military Public Relations Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Friday, January 3rd, stating that the suspect was apprehended on Thursday, January 2nd.

According to the statement, the suspect, identified as Mukhtar Alhaji Chari, aged 28, was attempting to transport bomb-making materials to Damasak town in Mobbar local government area for attacks on MNJTF troops. The recovered items included four 12kg empty cylinders, one 6kg empty cylinder, two carburetor anisters, two air regulators, and a sack of cloth.
