The All Progressives Congress member representing Yobe East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, said on Monday that many Boko Haram terrorists are willing to lay down
their arms but are afraid of the consequences of their action.
He also said contrary to claims by those who were opposing the proposed legislation, the victims of the Boko Haram insurgents are already being taken care of by the North East Development Commission. “The Boko Haram insurgency is becoming increasingly aggressive since its inception in 2009, marked by extreme brutality and explicit targeting of civilians, resulting in continued infliction of massive casualty on innocent citizens.
