The Kwara State Fire Service has recovered the corpse of a 26-year-old farmer, Abdulwaheed Abdullateef, who drowned in Moro River, Oko-Olowo, Ilorin, after a Wednesday rain.
Abdullateef, whose corpse was recovered at the riverbank on Saturday, was said to have been declared missing four days ago by his parents when he did not return from his farm after the downpour.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the service, Hassan Adekunle, stated that the deceased had fallen into the deep side of the river while returning from his farm. Adekunle said, “The incident happened around 12:36pm. It involved a 26-year-old man called Abdulwaheed AbdulLateef, who was previously declared missing by his parents about four days ago and was suddenly spotted this afternoon by one Mr Hassan at Moro riverbank.’’All rights reserved.
