The Blue Jackets are making progress on an extension with recently acquired forward Max Domi.

The Blue Jackets dealt fellow RFA forwardto Montreal in Tuesday's transaction, and also received a third-round pick which they used to select Slovakian defenceman Samuel Knazko.

Domi, 25, is coming off a two-year bridge deal worth $6.3 million, which he signed upon landing in Montreal in June 2018 after being acquired from Arizona in exchange for Alex Galchenyuk.
