Over 800 athletes will compete at the maiden MTN CHAMPS, a school athletics programme, from today to October 14 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo State.

The three-day competition has received 1500 event entries, according to the organiser, Making of Champions .

World Athletics , yesterday, unveiled the names of nominees for Women’s Athlete of the Year 2023, but the name of 100m hurdles record holder, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, is missing from the lot.
