Cholera claimed no fewer than 653 lives in Nigeria between January and July 2021, a new report sighted by our correspondent revealed.

The report showed that Bauchi, Kano and Sokoto led the list with 9,405, 5,215 and 2,651 suspected cases, respectively. Death toll per state, according to the report, are Bauchi, 87; Kano, 143; Sokoto, 100; Zamfara, 19; Jigawa, 64; Plateau, 17; Katsina, 12; Benue, 12; Delta, 32; Kaduna, 50; Nasarawa, 17; FCT, 24; Bayelsa, 15; Niger, 13; Gombe, 1; Kwara, 4; Enugu, 13; Borno, 1; Kebbi, 1; Yobe, 3; and Kogi, 4.
