Prabakaran, 23, also received feedback from his young supporters including undergraduates, asking him not to give in to politically motivated pressure to vacate the seat. Prabakaran had pushed for flood mitigation projects to ensure Batu was flash flood free by March next year."The Pasar Pekan Batu, which had been flood prone over the last 20 years, had been flood free over the last six months.
He had also succeeded in convincing Kuala Lumpur City Council to waive 50% of payment owed by longhouse dwellers who were relocated to PPR housing scheme.
