BART reported word of the emergency about 11 a.m.

WALNUT CREEK — BART trains stopped running in both directions on the yellow line Tuesday after what officials called a “major medical emergency” at the Walnut Creek station.Tech company settles allegations it submitted false claims about equipment used by Bay Area transit agencies

All service between the Pleasant Hill and Lafayette stations was closed, and Contra Costa Fire Protection District crews were at the station to tend to the emergency, according to BART spokesperson Jim Allison.BART on social media said it had set up shuttle train service between the Pittsburg/Bay Point station and Pleasant Hill. Trains were turning back and heading toward San Francisco from the Anticoh direction at the Lafayette station.
