The Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum’s convoy was on Wednesday attacked by Boko Haram members on the Baga highway, it was learnt on Wednesday.
A splinter of the Boko Haram sect, Islamic State of West Africa Province is believed to have strong hold in the area.
It was on the road that the five aid workers, who were killed about a week ago, were abducted in June this year. A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force told our correspondent that the governor’s convoy ran into an ambush on Baga road on Wednesday evening.“Fortunately the convoy cleared them off with two vigilante and a policeman wounded.
