The newly-elected President-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Azuta-Mbata has received a seven-day ultimatum to resign his position.

The group's ultimatum come barely 72 hours after the Ikwere-born former lawmaker was elected president-general of the Igbo socio-political organisation. According to the group, its members would be staging the largest protest in Rivers State, Abuja and all United Nations facilities against Azuta-Mbata victory at the elections.
