The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle O. Nafiu, has urged corps members to build friendships across regions and sustain them beyond their service year.
Nafiu gave the advice on Friday during his visit to the 2025 Batch “B” Stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Dakingari, Suru Local Government Area, Kebbi State.
He said fostering relationships was part of the scheme’s objective of promoting national unity and encouraged the corps members to accept their postings without complaints, especially to rural areas, where they could make lasting contributions. The NYSC boss also advised them to take the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, programme seriously in view of high job competition, save part of their allowances, and explore funding opportunities from partner agencies.
