Dyepkazah ShibayanAtiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party respectively, were absent at a peace accord meeting.While Ifeanyi Okowa, PDP vice-presidential candidate and governor of Delta, represented the former vice-president, nobody represented the LP candidate.
Bola Tinubu, standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress , and Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party , were present at the event that was presided by Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former head of state.Abubakar chairs the National Peace Committee. The accord was aimed at promoting peaceful electioneering.
Speaking at the event, the former head of state said “this country is ours to build. With determination we can overcome all the misunderstanding”.Tinubu was the only presidential candidate absent when the first peace accord was signed in September.
