Atiku’s legal team told the Presidential Election Petition Court that INEC refused to release the electoral documents to them even after paying N6 million certification fee to the agency.

, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of frustrating his access to vital electoral documents to enable him to prove his case against President Bola Tinubu.

The electoral commission had on 1 March declared Mr Tinubu president-elect after he garnered the highest number of lawful votes cast in the election. Mr Jegede, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria , had sought to tender some results sheets from 10 out of 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State to substantiate their case against Mr Tinubu.

Mr Tsammani explained that the court would have difficulty marking and numbering the documents as exhibits. The lawyer disclosed that Atiku’s team was left with no option but to subpoena officials of the electoral commission to bring the required documents before the court.INEC’s lawyer, Abubakar Mahmoud, a SAN, did not object to the request for an adjournment.
