The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, of the Taraba State University, TSU, has identified lack of proper funding as a major factor impacting

The leadership of the union made this known on Thursday at a press briefing in Jalingo, the state capital.

The Law No 4, DAILY POST reports, outlines the various funding sources for the university, among which are 5 percent of the monthly statutory allocation of local governments in the state. The union also expressed sadness at the alleged non-implementation of the Memorandum of Action, MoA signed on the 18th of March 2021 by the state government, the Taraba State University management and the ASUU-TSU branch.“The union members are owed Earned Academic Allowance, EAA, dating back to 2015, and the government lacks clarity regarding staff pension and gratuity.”
