With less than 50 days to the games, this week’s world ranking update saw eight athletes secure their participation based on the selection of continental quotas allocated by World Ranking. The ITTF also said that the Women’s Singles competition would showcase a similar level of global talent with the qualification of Lynda Loghraibi from Algeria , Adriana Diaz of Puerto Rico and Singapore’s Zhou Jingyi .
“Next week’s world rankings will be crucial in determining the final competitors for the highly anticipated Paris 2024 Games, 86 men and 86 women are expected to compete in the singles events of the Olympic Games,” ITTF added in the statement. Conor McGregor's comeback fight has been cancelled due to injury just two weeks before he was due to face Michael Chandler in Las Vegas.
