The Nigerian Army has detained two soldiers for allegedly stealing armoured cables at the Dangote petroleum refinery in Lagos.
In a statement on Wednesday, Onyema Nwachukwu, army spokesperson, said the alleged theft was foiled by troops and private security operatives attached to the refinery. “Unknown to the soldiers, the said contractor, sensing trouble as they approached the security post, excused himself from the vehicle and bolted, leaving them behind,” the statement reads.
