The Nigerian Army has approved the retirement of no fewer than 34 soldiers.

“Consequently, I am directed to respectfully request you release affected personnel are to report at HQ CAR with their unit service documents for documentation not later than March 13, 2023, with a current photograph and ensure that: all forms of military-controlled items, arms, ammunition, and items of combat kits are recovered from them before their disengagement date and certify that they are properly de-kitted.

When contacted, the spokesperson of 1 Division, Lt.- Col. Yahaya Musa, said the retirement was a routine in the service, adding that due process was followed.Musa said, “It is a routine in the military. A military job is a voluntary service to the country. There is no compulsion in the job. “If anyone has health issues and feels he or she can no longer continue with the job, he or she is allowed to write to the COAS. They set up a medical team to look at his or her case and the person is subjected to various tests.”All rights reserved.
