The armed forces of Nigeria has mourned the death of 5 personnel of Operation Udoka, killed in action by terrorists of IPOB/ ESN while on deployment at Obikabia Junction Checkpoint in Obingwa Local Government Areas adjourning Aba metropolis in Abia State.
Six civilians were also killed in the cross fire.
Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba who made this known on Friday said investigation is ongoing regarding the attack. “The troops deployed to enforce peace in the area and protect the citizens were massed attacked by the terrorist. “The terrorists in 3 tinted Prado Toyota SUVs and others from builtup areas surrounding the checkpoint, sprang a surprise attack on the checkpoint.
