The Arewa Community in Rivers State has faulted allegations of marginalisation of the Northern Community by Governor Siminalay
i Fubara’s administration.
Mato said, “We, the Arewa Community, have never enjoyed goodwill from the government like we are enjoying it with this administration. Since Governor Fubara assumed office, we have never had it this way before.” The Northern Community also disassociated itself from the statement credited to Saidu regarding the appointment of Dr. Samuel Anya as the non-indigene commissioner in Rivers State.
The Islamic cleric noted that Saidu’s position does not reflect the stance of the Arewa Community, which seeks continued good governance, which they are currently enjoying. Russia said Saturday it had repelled Ukrainian forces near the town of Korenevo and the villages of Russkoye and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye in the Kursk border region. Ukrainian attacks "were repelled in the direction of the settlements of Korenevo, Russkoye and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye", the Russian defence ministry said.
