The Appeal Court on Saturday put to rest the legal battle between the member representing Yorro Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Kassong Joseph, and the former Deputy Speaker, Moham
med Danladi Gwampo. The duo have been at loggerheads following the election of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, candidate, Joseph, as the member representing the constituency, in the 2023 general polls. Not satisfied with the outcome of the poll, the former Deputy Speaker approached the tribunal challenging the election of the SDP candidate. However, the tribunal upheld the election of the SDP flagbearer.
'This victory at the Court of Appeal once more reaffirmed the decision of the good people of Yorro who freely gave me the mandate to represent them in the State House of Assembly. 'To me, the people of Yorro won for the third time in this election, and not me. 'As a servant leader, this victory means a lot to me as it has set a clear pathway for a new dawn in our constituency.
