The Court of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed the elections of Senators Ali Ndume and Kaka Lawan, both of the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Borno South and Borno Central Senatorial Districts, respectively.
A three-member court panel, led by Justice Biobele Georgewill, dismissed two appeals challenging senators’ elections for lacking merit.
The appellants had challenged the outcome of the elections at the Borno State National and State’s Election Petition Tribunal, but their petitions were dismissed.In its judgements, the Court of Appeal upheld the submissions of the senior lawyers representing the senators and INEC and dismissed the appeals for lacking merit.
