Prominent leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southwest, yesterday, lauded the reunion of former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political dynasty.
Ambode, the third governor of Lagos State, and unfortunately the first incumbent to be denied a second term ticket by the ruling party, had distanced himself from APC activities in the state in the last five years. He surprisingly showed up during the banquet organised in honour of Tinubu in Lagos last week.
They noted that the reunion was part of the magnanimity of Tinubu, who doesn’t believe that political differences should be taken to the extreme or turned into a battle-to-death affair. The octogenarian added that Sanwo-Olu had earlier shown respect and love to his immediate past predecessor when he showered encomium on Ambode during his 60th birthday ceremony.
