Ahead of the February 2023 presidential election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has said that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, named him Abraham, father of nations. Pastor Adeboye is one of the Christian leaders in the country and heads the one of the biggest Pentecostal churches in Nigeria. The APC presidential candidate has been reeling in controversy over his choice to run with same faith of Muslim-Muslim ticket.

The APC presidential candidate has been reeling in controversy over his choice to run with same faith of Muslim-Muslim ticket. The APC presidential candidate has since incurred the anger of the Christian faith, the Northern Christians have vowed to work against his candidate, describing his choice of Muslim-Muslim ticket as Islamisation agenda.
Tinubu gave the details while consulting with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria , Tijaniyya sect, and other Islamic groups in Kano.
