Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) has proved that it has sustainable winning capacity both in the state and Nigeria.
Uzodimma disclosed this, yesterday, at Rockview Hotel, Owerri, while inaugurating members of the State Campaign Council of the party, headed by him.
The governorship election in the state is to be held in November 11 this year. This is due to the fact that the Supreme Court had, in January 14, 2020, sacked then governor, Emeka Ihedioha, after less than eight months in office, citing some lawful votes cast in favour of Uzodimma in 388 polling units, which were not included in the 2019 governorship election in the state.
According to the governor, other notable achievements recorded by Federal Government, which have impacted the state include: “The upgrade of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, to a University Teaching Hospital for the Federal University of Technology, Owerri; the Alvan Ikoku College of Education full takeover by the Federal Government, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Navy for the dredging of Oguta Lake/Urashi River to the Atlantic ocean.
