A group known as Progressive League of All Progressives Congress Youth has asked the national leadership of the party to discipline Benjamin Kalu, deputy speaker of the house of representatives.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, Usman Shuaibu, the group’s national coordinator, alleged that Kalu is working against Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, minister of state for labour and productivity.Shuaibu said the progress Onyejeocha has made, despite failing to return to the lower legislative chamber, should not worry the deputy speaker.“We are worried.

“We know how some highly placed persons who are the major beneficiary of the APC worked against the party in the last presidential elections in the guise of religion and tribal sentiment, thereby reducing the winning votes of our great party. “We recommend a disciplinary action against the deputy speaker, Mr. Benjamin Kalu and his accomplices to serve as a deterrent to others who may wish to indulge in such dangerous anti-party activity in the nearest future.“We call on the national chairman of our great party, His Excellency Abdullahi Umar Ganduje CON who is reconciling and repositioning the party for a better tomorrow to immediately call Mr. Benjamin Kalu to order before he destroys the party completely in Abia state.

When contacted, Levinus Nwabughiogu, chief press secretary of the deputy speaker, said he would comment on the statement.Click on the link below to join TheCable Channel on WhatsApp for your Breaking News, Business Analysis, Politics, Fact Check, Sports and Entertainment News!Lagos Teacher, Adeola Adefemi emerges 2023 Maltina Teacher of the Year, wins N6.
