{FILE] Left to right: Jigawa State Governor, Mr Muhammad Badaru; All Progressives Congress Governors’ Forum/Kebbi State Governor, Mr Atiku Bagudu; and Chairman, Northern Governors’ Forum/Plateau State Governor, Mr Simeon Lalung, briefing State House Correspondents after their meeting with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari , on the lingering crises in the APC at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
It was gathered that the meeting which was closed to media, will discuss the state of the party in the light of the recent Judgement on the Ondo State Governorship election. The governors are expected to discuss the implication of allowing their fellow governors continue to partake in the day-to-day running of the party in the light of concerns being raised by senior party officials who are lawyers.
A source privy to the meeting who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said, “Well, there is a court judgement and interpretation of the same. They are expected to take a position which will be communicated to Presidency.” Recall that the Supreme Court on July 28, in a split judgement of 4-3 held the victory of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu at the October 10, 2020 Ondo State Governorship election. All rights reserved.
