It also declared Francis Ejiroghene Waive winner of Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency with 41, 385 votes.

Declaring the result at the Ughelli collation centre, Dr. Igbinoba Eghosa, INEC Returning Officer for Delta Central Senatorial district, said Waive polled 41,385 votes to beat Marierie, who polled 35126 votes, while Awhinawhin scored 11,098 votes. President General of UPU, Olorogun Moses Taiga, in his congratulatory message urged the winners to use their positions to bring more development to Urhobo land, adding UPU looked forward to forming a formidable partnership with them to fast track development of the Urhobo nation.Taiga used the opportunity to implore all Urhobo people who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the elections to follow due process, saying: “The electoral act clearly states actions they should take.

But in a swift reaction, Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Delta Central Senatorial district, Evelyn Oboro, yesterday said the election was riddled with rigging and manipulation of results, and therefore, wants the election cancelled and a rerun ordered.
