Following former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi’s decision to run for the 2023 presidential race, some citizens of the state have declared support for his ambition, saying it is the right path for him.
Speaking in favour of Obi’s presidential quest, former Chairman of Anambra chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association , Emmanuel Okechukwu, noted that Obi was eminently qualified to run for the presidency of the country.
He urged all Ndigbo to support a candidate of South East extraction like Obi from across party divides and harmonise the Igbo interest, adding: “We should support an Igbo candidate who made it at the primary of any political party.” Okoye noted that Obi’s antecedents as former Governor of Anambra State were enough to support his political ambition.
